Some firsts: 2015

Guess what? It's time for another roundup of firsts! *throws confetti*

Are you getting tired of reading the word "first" on my posts, though? 'Cause I know I am HAHA. Maybe "Introductory to 2015"? "Initial"? "Opening"? My thesaurus is failing me...

Anyhow, let's get on it.

First record: Palms EP by Carousel

Wow, how my taste has grown. There's just something about this duo's music that brings out all the feels from inside. You know how when you see/hear/experience something so good that you just have to cry? That's how Carousel was for me. From the first time I heard Into the Night, I knew they were here to stay. Hoping to see them live soon though... *ehem* Wanderland *ehem*

First film: Whiplash

Oh. My. God. = literally me for not less than 15 times while watching the movie. It was so intense that I must have been on the edge of my seat the whole time, gripping unwarily on my bed cover with some possible chewing of my favorite pillow hahaha I LOVE IT.  The twists and turns and the open-ended approach had me wide awake until 2 am, hours after I have watched. A well deserved win for J.K. Simmons on the Golden Globes and an Oscar nomination. (Image source)

First series: Jane The Virgin

Another CW series (The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural) which I was honestly reluctant to begin, after they cancelled my 2014 favorite The Tomorrow People. That's right, guys, I'm still not over it haha and I don't know if I ever will be but Jane was funny enough for me to like. It is written by Jennie Urman, who also created Emily Owens, MD - another too soon to be cancelled show if you ask me. The plot was fairly simple but the treatment is kind of refreshing with its "telenovela" style of storytelling. I just hope they don't put an axe on this one soon. (Image source)

being flynn

First book: Being Flynn by Nick Flynn

I don't normally read memoirs or autobiographies but I got intrigued by the movie trailer and knew I need to get to know its story. However, it's originally published book title is much cooler, in my opinion.

Untitled

First trip: Bolinao, Pangasinan

Ahhh yes, what better way to start your year than to travel? This was a very memorable trip because it was our first time to get to this part of the country on our own! More on this soon, so stay tuned.

First show: The 1975

You know when you go through that phase where you keep on listening to an artist over and over again after attending their show? Well, let's just say I never got out of that phase since The 1975's mall tour from last year. So imagine my excitement when I first heard they were doing a solo concert in Manila!! *insert heavy breathing cat meme here* Ahhh, one of the best nights of my life, fo sho. What a first month it has been! I'm just stoked to find out what's in store for the rest of the year. Keeping my fingers crossed. Feel free to share your 2015 firsts in the comments below, dear reader. :)
