Let's be birds ~ (Fortnight @ NC)

ny colors

Started from the bottom, now we're here...

Just kidding. I've barely moved forward at all. (lol)

However, after over a year of saving up and another twenty hours of sitting at 30000 feet above ground, we're finally here. You know that feeling when you work so hard towards this one goal, this one big dream, and it suddenly hits you that it's actually happening? It's as if I have touched the outermost surface of that dream. It still feels surreal that I'm typing this now halfway across the world. But hey, we're here.

I don't remember the last time I felt that terrified, yet nothing felt as fulfilling as I sat and waited for my family on the arrival area with a 50-pound luggage and one carry-on at hand.

Immigration officer: So is this your first time traveling alone?
Me: Yes.
IO: Are you nervous?
Me: Mmm, a little. But more excited than nervous, actually.
IO: *nods* Good. That's great.

Nothing screams louder saying that you've made it on your own! Sarap kaya sa pakiramdam.

Anyway, it's currently autumn and the weather is starting to be really cold. As opposed to the Philippines where Christmas weather seems to be arriving later than usual. Celebrating Thanksgiving and having turkey was a first. And of course spending time with my grandma and the rest of the family is probably the highlight of my stay. I'm excited to explore more this coming weeks!

Meanwhile, here's a photo of my qtpie cousin <3

// I almost forgot how it feels like to see everything from the top. Like I've been stuck on the ground for way too long, getting used to the view. It's nice to break free from routine and from life and from everybody even just for a short while - something you need too, I'm guessing, so always keep it in mind. //
